Tesla - Q4 Results

Tesla - Q4 Results
Tesla reported better than expected Q4 results on Wednesday.

According to the report, the overall revenue rose 65% year over year, while automotive revenue was up 71% reaching $15.97 billion. In comparison to the previous quarter, their Net income increased 760% to $2.32 billion.

Although the report exceeded all expectations, to everyone’s surprise, it has failed to move the markets.

In fact, the opposite happened. Tesla stocks fell 5% in extended trading on Wednesday after the automaker warned of supply chain issues. The company said that supply chain issues will persist during 2022 and prevent it from working on new car models. Instead, Tesla will focus on ramping up production for its existing cars. The stock price downtrend continued until now when it dropped to $829.

Another surprising statement followed the report. Elon Musk stated that his “robot plans” had the potential to become more significant than the vehicle business in the long term.

Apparently, Tesla will shift its focus towards AI and humanoid robots in the near future. The first “job” of robots would be moving parts around the Tesla plant. And that would be just the first step of robots becoming an integral part of everyday life.
