The Trillion Dollar Club - The Major Players
05.11.2021
The Trillion dollar club is the name given to the world's major companies with more than $1 trillion dollars market capitalization. At the moment, it includes only six publicly-traded companies.
Although they belong to the same circle there are great differences between these companies as you can see on our infographic.
Apple, Microsoft, and Saudi Aramco are the three top companies in this group and their market capitalization has reached the $2 trillion milestone a while ago, thus leaving others far behind. Apple was also the first among its Big Tech peers to reach $1 trillion worth in 2018.
Amazon first reached $1 trillion, in 2018. However, due to some difficulties that the company experienced, (mostly because of some heavy investments) it lost its value and “left” the club. But, 2020, the year of the pandemic, was very successful for them which helped gaining back the position. Now, Amazon’s market capitalization is $1.68 trillion.
As you can see in our infographic, Alphabet’s market capitalization is also pretty high - $1.84 trillion. There are rumours that it might become a member of the $2 Trillion Club soon.
Recently, after 9 successful reports showing their growth, Tesla joined this leading enterprise giants group.
As you can see on our infographic, all corporations are American companies except the third on the list which is oil and gas giant Saudi Aramco.
Meanwhile, Facebook, which recently lost the Trillion status, it’s now the closest to take it back once again with the market capitalization showing $926 billion. The second closest to join the elite is Berkshire Hathaway with a value of $656 billion followed by Taiwan's TSMC of $619 billion market cap.
Despite who will be next to reach the trillion-dollar milestone, it’s clear that it has some pretty big shoes to fill.
