Bitcoin is the largest blockchain-based digital asset, and it’s considered to be the most successful cryptocurrency among them all. So, it's not surprising that it has attracted many companies to invest in it, but who owns most of it? Below we will show you a list of them.

MicroStrategy. A company that provides business intelligence, mobile software, and cloud-based services which was an early adopter of buying bitcoin as an investment. The company has the greatest Bitcoin portfolio of around 72,000 BTC and it has announced its second fundraising to finance the purchase of cryptocurrency.

Tesla. The electric vehicle maker caused quite a stir in the market when it announced that it will buy 1.5 billion dollars worth of Bitcoins. This move made the cryptocurrency price skyrocket to unimaginable heights while bringing an impressive profit to the company. Tesla did not reveal at what price and how many Bitcoins it has in total, but it's believed that the company owns about 43,500 BTC.

Galaxy Digital Holdings. A multi-service merchant bank dedicated to the digital assets and blockchain technology industry. This company holds 16,402 BTC, worth just over $770 million.

Bitcoin and Investment Funds

Meanwhile, many investment funds are enabling their investors to expose themselves to Bitcoin without holding or managing it directly such as:

The Grayscale Investments. A company that represents the biggest name when we talk about Bitcoin. Its portfolio has over $30 billion in Bitcoins, that is 656,166 BTC total. Grayscale Investments holds more than 3% of the Bitcoin total supply.

CoinShares Group. A pioneer digital asset investing firm. This company’s portfolio that includes 69,730 BTC, worth more than $3.2 billion represents more than 0.3% of the current Bitcoin circulating supply.

And last, Ruffer Investment Company Limited.  An investment company with shares listed on the London Stock Exchange. In 2020 R.I.C bought 45,000 BTC for the price of $870 million which, with the latest BTC developments, is now worth more than $2 billion.
